Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) needed two wins over Saint Xavier University (Ill.) on Saturday to capture the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship. When the dirt settled on Saturday night, the Tigers had done what they needed to, sweeping the Cougars, winning 10-1 and 13-8. With the sweep, the Tigers earned the CCAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Region VII tournament.

Olivet Nazarene-10; Saint Xavier-1

The Tigers jumped out to 4-1 lead after two innings, and then tallied a run each in the fifth and sixth inning, before posting four runs in the seventh. Erin Meyerhoff got the Tigers off on the right foot, smacking a two-run home run in the top of the first. Marisa Baker, Caitlin Gidcumb, Rachel Comoglio and Jennifer Juergens all finished with two hits, with Juergens driving in two runs. Aly Kelley went 2 for 2, with a solo home run in the second. Lauren Chessum only allowed the Kelley home run and six hits. She struck out three in the win.

Olivet Nazarene-13; Saint Xavier-8

A grand slam with two outs from Nora Duffy, capped a five-run first inning for the Tigers. They then tacked on four runs in the second inning, taking a 9-0 lead. In the bottom of the second inning, Saint Xavier's Aly Kelley smacked the first of her two, two-run home runs and first of her three home runs in the game. The Cougars added a pair of runs in the third, before the Tigers tallied three runs in the top of the fourth on Rachel Comoglio's three-run home run. Saint Xavier got a home run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, trailing 12-6 after six innings. The Tigers added a run in the seventh, before Kelley smacked her second two-run home run in the bottom of the inning. Kelley finished with four hits, scoring three runs and driving in six. Courtney Murphy added three hits and scored three runs. Caitlin Gidcumb led the Olivet offense with three hits and three runs scored, while Erin Meyerhoff, Marcia Grimes, Amy Murray and Duffy had two hits each. Duffy drove in a team-leading five runs. Kellie Koverman went five innings, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits, striking out two.
