Olivet Nazarene, Viterbo Go Head-To-Head For Men's Soccer Tourney Title On Wednesday

CHICAGO --- The top two seeds will square off for the 2025 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament championship after NAIA No. 24-ranked Olivet Nazarene University and Viterbo University came away with one-goal victories in Saturday's semifinal round.

Top-seeded ONU (17-2-1) got by No. 5 Judson University 1-0, while No. 2 Viterbo (12-5-2) rallied to beat No. 3 Saint Xavier University 2-1 in double overtime.

The two teams will meet on Wednesday at 6 pm at Olivet Nazarene for the right to advance to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round. 

When the two teams met during the regular season, Olivet Nazarene came away with a convincing 5-1 decision on Oct. 8.

The Tigers made it 13 wins in a row after Atjon Thaqi recorded his second game-winning goal of the tournament and fifth of the year with his tally in the 73rd minute.  Cedric Kunzli also authored his second shutout of the postseason and sixth of the campaign after stopping five shots.

Viterbo 2, Sant Xavier 1 --- 2 OT
Johan Hamnstrom's two goals were the difference for Viterbo with his first tally coming just ten seconds after Saint Xavier broke a 0-0 deadlock in the 63rd minute.  His game-winner came at 104:51.
