SXU's Bafia, VU's Teko-Folly Reap Women's Basketball Weekly Recognition

CHICAGO --- Saint Xavier University's Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill.) used a career-high 32 points to gain Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week accord, while Viterbo University's Pearla Teko-Folly (Rosemount, Minn.) threw a block party en route to the league's defensive accolades.  The CCAC office made the announcement on Tuesday.

Bafia produced her 32 points on near-perfect shooting, going 14-for-16 from the field and 3-for-3 at the foul line in a 91-82 setback to Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday.  The sophomore forward also contributed five rebounds, five assists and one steal to the cause.

Saint Xavier is currently 15-8 overall and 11-4 in the league.

Teko-Folly totaled six blocks, three steals and five defensive rebounds over a pair of games to claim the defensive prize.  Her overall averages for the week included 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The junior forward just missed a double-double on Saturday in an 81-70 win over St. Ambrose University, where she put up 17 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and one steal in just 19 minutes of action.

Teko-Folly tacked on two more blocks, a pair of steals, seven rebounds, one assist and three points in a 71-57 nod at Judson University last Wednesday.

Viterbo moved above .500 overall (12-11) with the two wins, while improving to 10-6 against league competition.
