Savvidou Three-Peats On Women's Tennis Postseason Honor Roll

CHICAGO --- Holy Cross College's Viktoria Savvidou (Limassol, Cyprus) has pulled off the three-peat, claiming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors for the third year in a row when the league office announced the sport's 2026 postseason honor roll on Thursday morning.

The senior also completed the four-year sweep of all-conference singles accolades, joined by University of St. Francis' Anna Bintsarovskaya (Chachkov, Belarus) in that same category.  Another familiar face was Holy Cross' Sofia Rocha (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), who repeated on the squad.

Rounding out the contingent were Holy Cross' Leah Gonzales-Edwards (London, England), Judson University's Erin Jacobs (South Africa) and Olivet Nazarene University's Rafaela Luna (Lima, Peru).

Savvidou captured the ITA regional tournament for the third year in a row and went on to finish 12th at the ITA National Championships later in the fall.  A three-time NAIA All-America selection, she was 17-11 heading into the NAIA National Championships.

Savvidou's highest ranking this season was No. 16 on the singles side and No. 31 in doubles, where she was also all-conference for the fourth year in a row.  She paired with Gonzales-Edwards, who was chosen for the doubles team for the second straight season.

Also repeating on the doubles side were the other Holy Cross pair of Rocha and Nicole Martinez (Villavicencis, Colombia).  Rocha was named to the squad for the second time and Martinez the third.

The final doubles recognition went to the Judson pair of Jacobs and Charlie Stirling (Rockhamption, Australia).

Conference Freshman of the Year distinction was claimed by both Holy Cross' Virginie Francois and St. Ambrose University's Catherine Meystrik (Jefferson City, Mo.).  Francois went a combined 10-7 at Nos. 5 and 6 singles and 4-2 at No. 3 doubles.  She also provided match-clinching wins versus both Georgia Gwinnett College and Goshen College.

Meystrik posted double-figure win counts in both singles and doubles play.  She went 12-5 in singles, primarily playing at No. 4, where she went 9-2.  She also saw time at Nos. 3 and 5.  On the doubles side, she went 10-8 between the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.

Meystrik's coach, Jim Kiss, also received praise, being honored as the CCAC Coach of the Year.

Olivet Nazarene University wrapped up the awards recognition with its CCAC Champions of Character Team honor.

Of the 17 awards presented, Holy Cross claimed the most with nine.  The Saints also had the most all-conference singles (three) and doubles players (four).  Judson was up next with three awards.  St. Ambrose and Olivet Nazarene each warranted two honors and St. Francis one.
