VU's Wingo Completes Sweep, SXU's Clarke Claims First Women's Outdoor T&F Weekly Award
CHICAGO --- NAIA "A" marks from both Saint Xavier University's Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill.) and Viterbo University's Olivia Wingo (Woodruff, Wis.) have netted the pair the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's outdoor track & field weekly honors for 2025, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Clarke claimed her first CCAC Track Athlete of the Week award after her performances as part of the 4x800-meter Cougar relay team and competing in the 800-meter race. She won the latter event at Olivet Nazarene University's Outdoor Open on Saturday with a new personal-best time of 2:15.46 against 21 other runners.
The senior was also a member of the relay team that ran the second-fastest time in SXU history at 9:16.57. That placed the group sixth out of 18 squads at the Drake Relays on Thursday.
Wingo, meanwhile, made it a clean sweep of CCAC Field Athlete of the Week awards with her fifth consecutive honor this spring. The senior hit the "A" mark again in the pole vault, this time recording a height of 3.97 meters (13 feet, 0.3 inches). That placed her second among 20 competitors at the Drake Relays on Friday.
Other Track Nominees: Trey Sheron (Judson), Isaac Sytsma (Saint Xavier), Ben Wilson (St. Ambrose).
Other Field Nominees: Brady Loerop (Trinity Christian).
